Dalam penelitian memiliki 3 metode yaitu metode kualitatif, metode kuantitatif, dan metode campur (kualitatif dan kuantitatif). Yang pastinya didalamnya memilki jenis, cara untuk melalukan penelitian dengan caranya tersendiri untuk menemukan hasil. Dalam hal ini kita akan fokus membahas mengenai metode kualitatif. Metode kualitatif adalah metode yang digunakan peneliti untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data secara sistematis dan logis. Metode ini lebih menekankan pada makna saat melakukan penelitian. Banyak jenis metode pada metode kualitatif ini yaitu ada: content analysis, etnografi, evaluasi program, fenomenologi, naratif, peneltian Tindakan kelas (PTK), research and development (R&D), penelitian studi kasus. Content Analysis
Content analysis (analisis konten) adalah salah satu metode kualitatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ilmu sosial, komunikasi, dan Pendidikan. Etnografi
Metode yang berfokus pada studi yang berkaitan dengan kelompok sosial, budaya tertentu. Bertujuan untuk mendalami bagaimana budaya, nilai, dan praktik tertentu mempengaruhi seseorang dalam suatu kegiatan berproses. Semisalkan bagaimana budaya mempengaruhi pendidik dalam proses pembelajaran. Untuk melakukan penelitian menggunkan metode ini ada hal yang harus dipenuhi yaitu: konteks sosial atau budaya yang jelas ada, peran partisipasi (ikut serta langsung), periode waktu yang panjang karena hal ini meneliti suatu proses dimana mesti tidak bisa hasil didapatkan atau diprediksikan dengan cepat, refleksi dan sensitivitas budaya. Jenis data-data yang bisa menjadi hasil dalam metode ini adalah dengan oebservasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, catatan lapangan, dokumen dan artefak budaya. Dengan menggunakan alat perekam dan kamera, jurnal atau buku untuk melakukan penelitian.
Evaluasi Program
Evaluasi program adalah metode kualitatif yang dilakukan untuk menilai, megukur bagaimana efektivitas dalam suatu program. Metode ini berperan memberikan Gambaran tercapai tidaknya suatu tujuan dalam satu program.
