Malam di Stasiun Cikarang terasa lebih sunyi dari biasanya. Angin lembut membawa bau tanah basah setelah hujan sore tadi. Beberapa lampu di peron berkedip-kedip, menciptakan suasana yang nyaris menyerupai adegan film horor. Hanya ada beberapa penumpang yang duduk di bangku panjang peron, menunggu kereta terakhir yang dijadwalkan tiba pukul 11.30 malam.
Raka, seorang petugas keamanan yang bertugas malam itu, sedang berjalan santai di peron. Tugas malam memang cenderung sepi, tapi kadang-kadang ada penumpang yang butuh bantuan, entah itu bertanya tentang jadwal kereta atau sekadar ingin mengobrol untuk mengusir kantuk.
Namun malam ini, ada sesuatu yang terasa berbeda.
Dari kejauhan, Raka melihat seorang pria tua duduk di salah satu bangku peron. Rambut pria itu putih kusut, wajahnya tertunduk, dan dia mengenakan jaket panjang berwarna cokelat tua yang terlihat lusuh. Di sebelahnya, ada tas kecil yang sudah usang.
Raka tidak mengenali pria itu. Sebagai petugas, dia biasanya hafal wajah-wajah penumpang yang sering naik kereta malam. Tapi pria tua ini terlihat asing.
Dengan langkah pelan, Raka mendekati pria itu. “Malam, Pak. Nunggu kereta terakhir, ya?”
Pria itu mengangkat wajahnya perlahan. Matanya kosong, seperti menatap ke kejauhan yang tak terlihat. “Iya, nunggu kereta ke barat,” jawabnya dengan suara pelan dan berat.
Raka mengangguk, meski merasa aneh. Jalur kereta menuju barat malam itu sebenarnya sudah tidak ada jadwal lagi. Kereta terakhir hanya sampai Bekasi, tidak melanjutkan perjalanan ke arah barat.
“Kereta ke barat? Maksudnya ke Jakarta, Pak? Udah nggak ada jadwal ke sana, lho,” ujar Raka.
Pria itu hanya tersenyum tipis. “Ada, pasti ada. Kereta itu selalu datang, walaupun terlambat.”
Raka merasa bulu kuduknya meremang. Senyum pria tua itu terlihat aneh, terlalu dingin untuk ukuran manusia biasa. Namun, dia mencoba mengabaikan perasaannya dan kembali ke ruang kontrol.
Beberapa menit kemudian, suara gemuruh roda kereta terdengar dari kejauhan. Raka segera berlari ke peron, memastikan bahwa kereta terakhir benar-benar datang sesuai jadwal.
Saat kereta mendekat, Raka merasa ada yang janggal. Kereta itu terlihat berbeda dari biasanya. Catnya kusam, lampunya redup, dan gerbong-gerbongnya tampak seperti sudah lama tidak digunakan.
Kereta berhenti perlahan di peron. Pintu-pintunya terbuka dengan suara decit yang nyaring. Raka memperhatikan dengan seksama, tapi yang membuatnya merinding adalah fakta bahwa tidak ada satu pun penumpang yang keluar.

Pria tua yang tadi duduk di bangku panjang perlahan berdiri, mengambil tasnya, dan berjalan menuju kereta. Langkahnya pelan, tapi pasti. Ketika dia melewati Raka, pria itu sempat berhenti sejenak.
“Terima kasih sudah menemani. Saya harus pergi,” ucap pria itu sambil tersenyum.
Sebelum Raka sempat menjawab, pria itu naik ke dalam kereta. Pintu-pintu menutup perlahan, dan kereta mulai melaju meninggalkan stasiun.
Namun, yang membuat Raka semakin bingung adalah saat dia mengecek layar monitor di ruang kontrol. Tidak ada kereta yang terdaftar melintasi Stasiun Cikarang malam itu.
Kereta itu tidak pernah tercatat.
Keesokan harinya, Raka menceritakan kejadian itu kepada rekan-rekannya. Salah satu dari mereka, seorang petugas senior, mendengarkan dengan ekspresi serius.
“Pria tua dengan jaket cokelat, ya?” tanya petugas senior itu.
Raka mengangguk. “Iya, kenapa? Ada apa?”
Petugas senior itu menarik napas panjang. “Beberapa tahun lalu, ada kejadian kecelakaan kereta di sini. Salah satu korbannya adalah seorang pria tua yang katanya sedang menunggu kereta ke barat. Tapi malam itu, kereta yang ditunggunya nggak pernah datang. Sejak itu, banyak yang bilang dia masih sering terlihat di peron, menunggu kereta yang sama.”
Raka hanya terdiam. Kata-kata pria tua itu terngiang di telinganya. “Kereta itu selalu datang, walaupun terlambat.”
Malam itu, Stasiun Cikarang terasa lebih dingin dari biasanya.
