Review of the Film “Laskar Pelangi”

Laskar Pelangi is an Indonesian film released in 2008, directed by Riri Riza, based on the best-selling novel by Andrea Hirata. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful yet economically disadvantaged Belitung Island, the story follows a group of children attending an underfunded school in the 1970s. The main theme of the film revolves around the power of education and the importance of friendship, as the children, known as the “Rainbow Troops,” fight to achieve their dreams despite facing numerous challenges.
